I unfolded this peice of Vinyl from the previous page wrinkle free, lays flat. Although I did make sure that I did not step on the folded bit
It probably helps to have a warm North Queensland climate to remove wrinkles. But in cold climates the Woman of the houses Hair dryer will remove any creases, (not too hot)

A Quick plan
Above is a quick plan I have drawn to give the reader an idea of the size of this toilet shower and laundry, on the left is the toilet, the piece missing is the shower (center), and the missing square on the right is the laundry basin. What I have not drawn is the water heater. that is off the floor and merely restricts the door from opening. But I shall be taking the door off for this installation as it will make it easier for the D.I.Yourselfer, illustrations.
First things first.
(1) Nobody in their right mind would lay a domestic sheet vinyl outside of a shower. Stepping on this type of vinyl with wet feet can cause a severe slipping hazard.
(2) Laying sheet vinyl over ceramic tiles will lead to un-even surface transfering and will become visible after a short time
This vinlyl intstallalion is merely using the ‘SHAPE’ of this area, this vinyl will be removed after this demonstration
The chosen Vinyl
This is our chosen vinyl
It was a remnant off of a four metre wide roll of Vinyl. just a little bit short of two meters X four metres
PERFECT.
Most floorcovering retailers will have ends of rolls. They are regularly quite happy to sell these odd pieces for around costs (sometimes even less)
THE NEXT STEP
is to mark the toilet, shower and laundry area with three marker, (lines on the wall and floor)
This will assist you to align the sheet with coresponding marks placed on the sheet vinyl.
(If the markers match, then everything will be laid square.)
I shall be using masking tape and a felt pen.
Lets start Laying (1)
The professional sheet vinyl layer would likely skip the actions in the following photographs. These preparatory measures would be replaced by a trained eye and reduced to a single spot in the doorway. The installer would rotate the sheet with an experienced eye until it recognises a square and correctly aligned result.
I would not advise the first-time layer to attempt an “align by eye” method. Far safer would be to follow the instructions, making a mental note of all the considerations illustrated.
With many installations of experience, you might attempt to walk into an area like the one illustrated with an unfurled roll under your arm. But you must understand that any successful ‘lay’ will require all the illustrated considerations in the following chapter.
Step 1
I have placed the tape measure against the wall and run it the full length of the bath, toilet, laundry. I have fastened a mark (atatched) to the tape measure. this mark places the location of the shower area.
Lets start Laying (2)
Same tape measure. a little further along to mark the next wall, A bit more work than nessasary. But it is not for me . it is for the reader.
The end result is the tape measure with stuck on masking tape marks. This indicates where the walls are.
This is strickly to be able to ensure that non of the lines in the plank patterns clash with the line of the wall wall. Not so important with the lines on this sheet vinyl, But a small back and white tile pattern any crookedness will stand out like Dogs Balls.

HERE IS THE POINT
In the above photo is a birds eye view of the existing floor, this existing floor was probably laid about 30 or more years ago.
The tiles disapear under the wall at one end of the floor and the tiles missed the wall at the other.
The blocklayer messed up. The tiler thought it was good enough for the brickie, it is good enough for me.NO IT IS NOT.
Lets start Laying (4)
In the above image I have laid the sheet vinyl out in the adjoinng room/ The tape on the vinyl correspods with the measurment on the tape.
The next task is to allow a few centimetres inside my marks. this will leave me with some wriggle room and enough material up the wools for cuttin-in.

This image is a continuation of the last one. It shows the marked line (on masking tape) this line on the back and the front of the sheet lines up with the marks on the floor
The lower line (C) matches up with the mark that we placed at the door. All that is required is aligning the three markings to assure a square and well aligned finish.
It can be tricky for novices to continue a marking line on the reverse side of the roll.
So we use a simple method of making it accurate FOOLPROOF
